MBB: John Holl signs American Craft Beer Cookbook

Market Block Books welcomes award-winning beer journalist John Holl for a book signing of his book The American Craft Beer Cookbook: 155 Recipes from Your Favorite Brewpubs and Breweries, a celebration of craft beer, food, and the people behind it. 

The pleasure of going to the local pub or craft brewery for a pint and a delicious meal can now be recreated at home with Holl’s collection of recipes that all taste amazingly great with beer. From pub grub and barbecue to appetizers, main dishes, side dishes, breakfast fare, and desserts, many of these dishes use beer as an ingredient, and all of them can be paired with your favorite brews. With a passion for American beer and an interest in the culture of drinking, John Holl has spent the last several years traveling the country chronicling craft brewers and the imbibers who support them. A journalist since 1996, Holl has worked as a reporter for the New York Times, the Newark Star-Ledger and the Indianapolis Star. In 2007, he dedicated his efforts to the full-time pursuit of covering the ever-growing American craft beer scene.

Having visited more than 900 breweries in the United States and across the world, Holl has been privileged to learn about the brewing process from some of the most dedicated, passionate, and knowledgeable people in the business. An international beer judge, he served as a finalist judge for the 2010-2013 Samuel Adams Long Shot Competition. He has also judged a number of other beer competitions including the 2011 Copa Cervezas de America, the Pilsner Urquell Master Homebrewer Competition, and the Hacker-Pschorr Backyard Oktoberfest Contest.

Currently, Holl is the host of the Beer Briefing on iHeartRadio and the editor of All About Beer Magazine. He is also the author of several books, including The American Craft Beer Cookbook, Massachusetts Breweries, and Indiana Breweries. He lives in Jersey City, NJ.
