Meet Susan T.

Susan T (literate, quirky, enrgetic)

Life Story:
I don't remember learning how to read, but I've been a bookworm ever since. I've been in the book business since 1982. I moved back to the Capital District last year after 14 years in Boston; it's good to be home again.

What types of books you enjoy reading, or what makes you love a book:
I like strong characters and good plots, whether it is fiction, biography, or history. I read and re-read my favorite books

The five books I would absolutely need on a desert island would be:
1. Dorothy Dunnett – The Lymond Chronicles (6 books)
2. Gone with the Wind – Margaret Mitchell
3. The Time Traveler's Wife – Audrey Niffenegger
4. The Princess Bride – William Goldman
5. Dorothy Dunnett – House of Niccolo series (8 books)

When not reading, I am crocheting, doing Pilates, visiting Cherry Valley, doing sudoku, visiting museums, and going out to hear live music.

Community Affiliations: Capital District Local First, Troy Community Food Co-op

Favorite childhood book: That was Then, This is Now – S.E. Hinton, or anything but Sally Watson

Top five authors:
1. Dorothy Dunnett
2. JK Rowling
3. Orson Scott Card
4. Robert Jordan
5. George RR Martin

Book that I'm an evangelist for: Dorothy Dunnett's Lymond Chronicles, Pobby & Dingan by Ben Rice

Favorite line from a book:
"The world was hers for the reading" - A Tree Grows on Brooklyn by Betty Smith

recent recommendations:
Pobby and Dingan by Ben Rice
His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik
Throne of Jade by Naomi Novik
Black Powder War by Naomi Novik
Empire of Ivory by Naomi Novik
